Available tools
Your AI assistant calls these tools on its own. You just ask in plain language.
Summaries run in a queue. summarize_group or summarize_groups returns summaries that hold task IDs, not the final result. Send each ID as summary_id to get_summary. Read text once the status is completed; while it is pending or running, check again later. If it is failed, read error_code.
read_messages appears after the Read messages permission is turned on for an AI connection or access key on the MCP page. Chat content is sent to the AI that you connected. Use group_id, from, and to with ISO timestamps. The age limit of stored messages and the reading range follow your current plan: 7 days on Free, and more on paid plans. The default limit is 200 messages, with a maximum of 500. For the next page, send next_cursor as cursor with the same group and range. Regular messages are available from the time the group was turned on; earlier messages can be read only if they were imported with your consent for that group and range. Downgrading your plan limits access right away to match the new plan. This reading does not run the Grupy model and does not use up your summary quota. MCP rate limits still apply; the cost or limits of your AI follow that AI service.
History import is available in the dashboard for groups that are selected, active, and still connected. Choose from 1 day up to your plan limit: 7 days on Free, and more on paid plans. Check the range and give your consent before you start. Grupy asks for the text and captions that are still available in WhatsApp, including messages from before the group was turned on. Import does not run AI, OCR, transcription, or automatic summaries. WhatsApp may provide only part of the history; the number shown is new messages saved, not proof that the whole range is complete. Each run is limited to 1,000 new messages, 4 MiB of text, 20 pages, and 10 minutes. If a run is partial because of an app limit, continue with your consent for the same range; the run picks up from the saved position. If there is no message reference yet, send a regular message in the group and try again. Messages that were imported successfully still follow the storage limit of your current plan. Create a manual summary after the import; its range follows your plan and uses summary quota.
The activate_groups, deactivate_groups, update_group_schedule, sync_groups, and set_summary_language tools appear after the Manage groups permission is turned on for an AI connection or access key on the MCP page. This permission is off by default. You can turn it off at any time. These tools do not send WhatsApp messages and do not change group members or admins. One call to activate_groups or deactivate_groups handles 1 to 50 groups and returns a result for each group. list_groups accepts a status of active (default), inactive, or all. list_numbers shows the active groups, the group limit, and the free slots of each number. A group turns on only if its number is connected, is not paused by your plan, and has a free slot. When a group is turned off, new messages from that group are not saved, the summary schedule stops, and a running history import stops. Messages that are already saved stay, within your plan limit. Messages sent while a group is off can only be fetched later with a history import. sync_groups refreshes the group list of one number from WhatsApp. New groups stay off until activate_groups turns them on, and a group that the number has left turns off. set_summary_language changes the language of new summaries for the whole account. Existing and queued summaries keep their language.
Ready-made prompts: daily_briefing builds a daily briefing of your groups, weekly_review builds a weekly review, my_tasks lists the tasks that wait for you, and group_digest sums up one group (argument group). Choose a prompt from the prompt menu of an AI app that supports prompts. A prompt only writes the request. The data still comes from the tools above, and the permissions of the connection still apply.

list_groups Shows the ID, name, and summary schedule of the groups in your account, with a filter for active (default), inactive, or all groups. “Show the groups I turned on, along with their summary schedules.” list_numbers Shows each WhatsApp number in the account with a masked number, its status, its active groups, the group limit of your plan, and its free group slots. “How many free group slots do I have on my WhatsApp number?” read_messages Reads stored text from your active groups after you allow message reading on the MCP page. The AI you connected can summarize it on its own. “Read the stored messages from the group I chose over the last 24 hours, then summarize them with this AI.” summarize_group Queues a summary task for one group over a given time range. “Summarize the Class 4B Parents group since yesterday, then read the result when it is done.” summarize_groups Queues one summary task for each group you select. “Summarize the work groups I picked for this week, then read the result for each group.” get_summary Reads the status and result of one of your summary tasks by summary_id. “Check the summary task from earlier and show me the result if it is finished.” search Searches the text of the finished summaries in your account, newest first, up to 20 results. Each result has an id, a title, and a link to the summary in the dashboard. ChatGPT deep research uses it most. “Search my summaries for the monthly dues.” fetch Gets the full text of one summary in your account by an id from search. The result has the id, title, text, link, and metadata. An unknown id, or an id from another account, gives not found. “Open the summary from that search and explain the decisions.” cancel_summary Cancels one pending or running summary of your account by summary_id. A cancelled summary does not use summary quota. A finished summary cannot be cancelled. “Cancel the Class 4B Parents summary that is still running.” export_members Creates a CSV of group members after you approve the export in the dashboard. Hidden numbers are still marked. “Export the members of the Class of 2012 Alumni group to CSV.” check_quota Shows your plan, your usage, and your remaining quota for messages, requests, and exports, plus the reset date. “How much Grupy quota do I have left?” list_summaries Shows your summary history, with filters for group, date, and status. “Show the failed summaries for the Class of 2012 Alumni group this month.” get_group Shows the details of one group: schedule, language, number of stored members, last message, and number status. “When did the last message arrive in the Class 4B Parents group, and what is its schedule?” list_meetings Shows the Fathom meetings that are connected to your account. “Show my Fathom meetings this week.” get_meeting Reads the summary of one Fathom meeting. “Read the summary of my latest Fathom meeting.” get_automation Shows the join request automation rules of a group. “What are the join request automation rules in the New Community group?” list_join_requests Shows pending join requests, with masked numbers and the expected decision. “Who is waiting to join the New Community group?” list_join_decisions Shows the history of automated join request decisions. “Show the automated decisions that were rejected in the New Community group.” list_goakal_transactions Shows Goakal transactions: service, amount, payment time, and masked number. “Show the latest Goakal transactions.” list_webhooks Shows the status of your account's webhook endpoints. “Are all my webhooks still active?” search_messages Searches for a word in the stored messages of one group. Only appears after the Read messages permission is turned on. “Search for ‘exam schedule’ in the Class 4B Parents group this month.” decide_join_request Accepts or rejects one join request. Only appears after the Manage join requests permission is turned on. “Accept the first join request in the New Community group.” set_automation Turns join request automation on or off, or turns Simulation on or off, for one active group. Send enabled, dry_run, or both. Simulation only records decisions. When dry_run is false, Grupy accepts and declines real join requests by your rules, and nobody can undo those decisions. A group without automation starts in Simulation. This tool does not change rules. Change rules in the dashboard. Only appears after the Manage join requests permission is turned on. “Turn on join request automation in the New Community group, in Simulation.” sync_groups Refreshes the group list of one WhatsApp number from WhatsApp now. Send number_id from list_numbers, or leave it out when the account has one number. New groups stay off until you turn them on with activate_groups. A group that the number has left turns off. The result status is done, running, or rate_limited. If it is rate_limited, try again at retry_at. Only appears after the Manage groups permission is turned on. “Refresh the group list of my WhatsApp number.” activate_groups Turns on 1 to 50 groups at once (by ID or name), so Grupy starts to save their messages and run their summary schedules. Follows the group limit of your plan for each number. Only appears after the Manage groups permission is turned on. “Turn on the Alumni 2012 and Class 4B Parents groups.” deactivate_groups Turns off 1 to 50 groups at once. While a group is off, new messages from it are not saved. Only a history import can fetch them later. Summary schedules and a running history import stop. Messages that are already saved stay, within your plan limit. Only appears after the Manage groups permission is turned on. “Turn off the Old Project group.” update_group_schedule Changes the summary schedule of one group: daily summary, time, and time zone. Only the fields you send change. The schedule rules of your plan apply. Only appears after the Manage groups permission is turned on. “Set the summary of the Class 4B Parents group to 20:00 Jakarta time.” set_summary_language Changes the language of new summaries for the whole account: auto (follows the chat language), id, en, es, pt, it, de, nl, ar, or ms. Existing and queued summaries keep their language. The display language of the dashboard does not change. Only appears after the Manage groups permission is turned on. “Write my next summaries in English.” Example prompts
